About Me

Hi, I’m Dori. I began the Without a Net project as a way to share the joy and expansion of creativity with more than just my painting students. 

As a lifelong artist my most vital quality is curiosity. I love learning and I love teaching. Since I was a teenager and over the decades my inquisitiveness led me into investigations with spirituality, psychology, art, and all manner of fields that fed the growth of a creative soul. My self-propelled education has inspired the integrative Without a Net program. 

With my husband Scott Bennett, I own Red Dot Gallery, a working studio, art teaching space and art gallery in Birmingham, Alabama. I have written three books, and my paintings have been exhibited at galleries, festivals, and museums across the country. My bio has the full scoop.
